Steve has been skipping rope since the age of six, after being recruited by a teacher to participate in a local skipping rope program. Skipping rope helped boost Steve’s confidence, coordination and was key in helping him go on to be Mr. Basketball of South Carolina in 1990 as well as the recipient of a full basketball scholarship. After a short stint playing professional basketball in Europe, Steve earned his degree in Health and Exercise Science at Furman University.
